Elegant and steeped in Mexico's rich history, the 50 peso gold coin embodies national pride and economic stability. First minted in 1921 to commemorate the centenary of Mexican independence, the coin symbolises the sovereignty and resilience of the Mexican people. On the obverse, the emblematic Angel of Independence, or Angel of Liberty, rises majestically, holding a laurel wreath and a broken chain, representing victory and freedom. At the back, the Mexican eagle spreading its wings, perched on a cactus, depicts Mexico's pre-Columbian heritage, a symbol of strength, bravery and freedom. Every meticulously crafted detail of this piece testifies to its historical importance and its value as a symbol of the Mexican nation.
VAT: Gold (and additional services such as delivery, certificate of authenticity, etc.) is exempt from value added tax (VAT) in Switzerland and the European Union.
Silver (and additional services such as delivery, certificate of authenticity, etc.) is taxed at 8,1% in Switzerland, whether ingots or coins. In some European countries, the VAT rate is lower for coins than for ingots. In other European countries it is identical. In France, for example, the same rate applies to silver ingots and coins. If delivery is in Switzerland, Swiss VAT applies to silver (but gold is exempt). If delivery is to outside Switzerland, the customs duties and VAT of the destination country apply and must be paid by the recipient upon receiving the parcel.
